The Latest Advancements in DFR: Aerovision, Mobile Apps, and Community Engagement Dashboard

As a team led by public safety veterans focused on building the best drone-as-first-responder technology, we are committed to keeping officers and their communities safe. That is why agencies nationwide have partnered with Aerodome to enable advanced DFR capabilities. We are building on that mission with the latest advancements to our DFR 2.0 system.

Today, we’re excited to announce three new and significant updates for Aerodome customers to enhance their DFR programs: Aerovision, the Aerodome Mobile Apps, and the Aerodome Community Engagement Dashboard.

Aerovision

Reduce the pilot’s cognitive load and enhance situational awareness with augmented reality overlays.

Aerovision is a cutting-edge tool that uses augmented reality (AR) on the Aerodome flight screen to reduce the drone pilot's cognitive burden while enhancing their situational awareness during a DFR flight. Paired with the mini-map and laser range finder, the pilot always knows where the drone is, where it’s heading, and what they’re looking at.

Street overlays eliminate the guesswork of “What street am I looking at?” Markers indicate 911 caller locations, calls for service coordinates, license plate reader hits, and the drone’s return destination. Aerovision means first responder pilots always know where the action is on the ground and can instantly communicate it to their team.

Aerovision

With Aerovision, pilots can:

  • Streamline their workflow, stay focused on one screen, and reduce the clicks needed to access vital data.

  • View overlayed street names, landmarks, and other geographical information on the video feed, which is especially useful for unfamiliar areas and new pilots.

  • Track CFS and ALPR hits in real-time for instant identification and confident decision-making.

  • Maintain a constant visual reference to the home point.

This has been a top customer request, and we’re excited to bring it out of Beta. Aerovision will soon be available to all Aerodome customers at no additional cost.

Aerodome Mobile Apps

Enhance communication and response with live DFR feeds and notifications on the go.

The Aerodome Mobile App – available on Android and iOS – allows you to share real-time DFR feeds with your team, wherever they are, for enhanced situational awareness, better communication, and more efficient response.

Public safety teams have already been able to view an Aerodome Spectator feed directly on their phones through their mobile web browser. Now, it’s all in one place, easier to access, and with more features, such as push notifications when a new flight begins or mission ends.

Whether in the field or the RTCC, officers and commanders can stay connected and informed with:

  • Live video and telemetry streaming from inflight Aerodome drones.

  • Customizable, automated alerts for specific CFS types or priority levels (available now for Android, coming soon for iOS).

  • Cross-platform compatibility.

The new Aerodome Mobile App will enhance your team’s situational awareness, improve communication, and yield even faster response times. Stay tuned for updates that will bring more mobile features soon.

Community Engagement Dashboard

Transparency made easy with real-time flight metrics, redacted logs, and more.

Building trust with the community is essential for any drone program. The Aerodome Community Engagement Dashboard makes this effortless by automating flight data sharing with the public to foster transparency and accountability.

The metrics shared with the community also show how valuable your DFR program is. Stats include the average drone response time, average reduction in response time, how often the Aerodome drone was first on the scene, and more.

Key features of the dashboard include:

  • Key mission statistics that illustrate the value of your DFR program.

  • Automatic sorting and organization of all flight logs.

  • Map of each flight with its mission reason.

  • Flight report data input by pilots at the end of each flight, which automatically updates the dashboard statistics.

With the Community Engagement Dashboard, you can demonstrate your commitment to responsible drone operations and build stronger relationships with the communities you serve – without creating extra work for your department.
